Good book/cd shoping in France, this summer.
* L'HOMME QUI AVAIT UN PIANO DANS LA TETE:Carl Norac - Erik Satie - François Morel - Frédéric Vaysse Knitter - Elodie Nouhen - didier Jeunnesse ed.
I do not remember I came across such a good children book. Everything is of high quality: text , illustrations, narrative!
* LA PROMESSE AUX ÉTOILES: Philippe Lechermeier - Elodie Nouhen - Gautier Languereau ed.
You can have a look at Elodie Nouhen's great work here.
* CACHE LUNE: Eric Puybaret - Gautier Languereau ed.
Lovely poetic story. I am not the biggest fan of the illustration although it is a very interesting style with beautiful perspectives. I just don't manage to get in touch with the main character...
* Little beauty: Anthony Brown - Elisabeth Duval - Kaleidoscope ed.
So funny, light, moving and amazingly illustrated!
* NASREDINE ET SON ÂNE: Odile Weulersse -Rebecca Dautremer - père castor - Flamarion ed.
Rébecca Dautremer is of the best and most famous illustrator in France today. She creats remarkable worlds...
* LA PREMIÈRE FOIS QUE JE SUIS NÉE: Vincent Cuvelier - Charles Dutertre).
Beautiful and funny for kids and parents as well. Mums might shade a tear over the end...
Noame tend to likes songs in Hebrew although this time she is completely crasy about this album...listening to it all day long. I am so happy about that
* LES PETITES HISTOIRES vol 1- Japon
Museum on a string.
This summer, during a very short visit in Paris, I wandered in the Louvre for a few hours. From this visit, those pictures are remaining in my mind:
Those images are well standing in my memory. On the other hand, the names of the artists who painted them were sent flying. I see Flandrin (clear blue frame), chassériaux (green frame)... But who painted the beautiful ginger hair women in the darker blue frame?
Barbie from the 70ies!!!
Noame found Barbies from... let say, 1976.
The Barbie doll, the kitchen..., everything looks so retro fashion!!!
Very old drawings...
Very old drawing found this summer in France. I might have been twenty years old and I was coming back from Burkina Fasso, obviously...
The break is ending now !
I believe I did not stay away from this site for such a long time since it was launched.
One event after an other:
-
Living in a bamboo dome: beautiful idea despite Pardes Hana 's hot weather as well as the lack of working space.
-
A few weeks in France - linguistic trip for the girls.
With time, I am occasionally seeing France through some kind of "clichés", particularly when I am at my 98 y.o grand father's. I am noticing the old outdoor advertisement or piled up eggs boxes which have been there for ages without me noticing it... -
Moving in a new house: Five years in Israel, five circumstantial moving houses... it's a touch too much. I agree.
Here I am, rather fulfilled by those new experiences as well as very much eager to get back to the image making activity...
done with the sketches...
... next stage: colors.
I will be started with colors in August when we will get into the new house, when I could resume my personal space, when my colors, papers for the collages will be within reach.
I can't wait!!!
Moving studio...
Boxes ready and decorated...
