About Isabelle Stolar
My name is isabelle. I am a french self taught illustrator living and working in Israel. I love playing with colors, photoshop brushes, textures and explore the two way wiring between words and images. Here I post and blog about images and seamless patterns I made.
Some of the images I display in this site are accomplished, part of a project (books, cards , prints), others might appear on the spur of the moment or remain at sketch level...
I also like to isolate a detail of an illustration I am working on and make a special web version of it...
Tours and detours:
After studding anthropology and working in child protection field for years, I turned the page and returned to an old passion - drawing.
During the first part of my professional life I dealt with damaged and repaired childhood. Although my work was not focused on drawing I've always enjoyed paying a particular attention to the creative side of the children and families I worked with.
Over those years I increasingly enjoyed thinking about the imaginary process as a way of making connections between images (mental and tangible one) which open toward action and creation.
Surprisingly, rather that making my way toward art therapy (I toyed with the idea for a while) I felt like grabbing colors, papers, opening photoshop and simply making images. I realized it was what I have always wanted to do without putting it into words and into action. I am now enjoying leaving a creative life.
I am currently participating to a few projects and working on my first children book along side with Yael Altuvia (writer)
